Falcony Audit update: New Question Types, PDF Report options and Copy Templates

Written by Arttu Vesterinen | Dec 13, 2023 6:00:00 AM

Audits, inspections and checklists come in as many sizes and types as there are auditors and organisations. We are happy to tell that with our newest updates, even more types of audits are now possible with our Falcony Audit product. In this blog we'll tell more about New Question Types, even more PDF report options, using existing audit templates as a copy for new ones and importing your own templates via excel.

This is the fourth blog post from our launch event (link goes to YouTube) held on the 16th of November 2023. The previous blog posts can be read here:

New Question Types

In the past we’ve had free text, choice and signature question types available for audit templates but with this latest release we also have the whole number, numeric, date, time and date&time questions.

Why all of these? We recognized that a lot of our customers have used free text to collect numeric and date related information but being free text it’s more difficult to utilize the data further as the auditors may fill free text in multiple ways. Now the data can be more usable immediately.

PDF report options

We have also added several more options to audit pdf reports on what to show or not show there. In the past, logo, footer text, unanswered questions and not applicable answers were already there on the list, but now customers have even more options:

  • “show audit and observation number” gives the possibility to remove the running audit and observation numbering
  • “Show sections summary” allows to remove the second page of the report where section scores were shown visually.
  • “Show defect summary”. This is the page in the report that lists all the answers that were the red, so the worst choices.
  • “Show question help text” allows to give more context for each question as the help texts are also represented there.
  • “Show observation follow-up answers” makes it possible to also show what happened to the observations after the audit was done.

Copy and import audit templates

For a long time, we have had the possibility to create new audit templates from scratch with our state-of-the-art template editor. But many times, especially with larger templates consisting of 100 or more questions, it has been a dubious task and many of our customers have turned to get help from our support to import or copy some of their existing templates.

But now when admin users go to the audit templates list, press the plus-button on the top right corner for adding a new template, they have two new options to choose from:

  • Import your own audit template from an excel file
  • Copy from an existing template.

This will save a lot of time and again will allow our customers to implement new processes faster with Falcony.

We are building the world's first operational involvement platform. Our mission is to make the process of finding, sharing, fixing and learning from issues and observations as easy as thinking about them and as rewarding as being remembered for them.‍

By doing this, we are making work more meaningful for all parties involved.
