Product update: Deleted items, Datatables and Observation lifetimes

Written by Arttu Vesterinen | Nov 29, 2023 6:00:00 AM

As we are on a mission to help companies involve their extended workplace, we are pleased to release bunch of new product updates that will help our entire customer base. In this blog we'll go through deleted audits and observations, fresh new data tables, updated lifetime functionality and faster workflow triggering.

This is the second blog post from our recent launch event (link goes to YouTube) held on the 16th of November 2023. If you missed it or want to recap, the first blog post about Falcony ideas can be read here: Falcony Launches idea generation solution.

Deleted audits and observations

Every once a while, we have received support cases, where customer admins were asking about missing audits or observations. It so happens that those items can be deleted for multiple reasons: by accident, on purpose to avoid duplicates and/or sometimes to even hide something. Each and every one of these cases have required one or more from our development team to investigate them. So why not simply allow the admins to see ALL the deleted audits and observations and that's what this feature is about.

Instead of being able to only look at the deleted items on a list, customers can filter the list, decide which columns to show on the list, sort all those columns as they want and last but not least, restore any of those observations and audits whenever they want.

Deleted items is available in the administration tab and there are actually two separate buttons for this, one for deleted audits and one for deleted observations.

New datatables

In the past we have had multiple ways to show table-like data but many of the lists, like places, questions and roles were missing filtering and column pickers. The new datatables unify how the lists look and feel but even more than that, they will be much faster than before and allow for more information to be shown and used in the tables.

This has already been implemented to Users, Places, Roles, Open Links and Questions along with the aforementioned deleted observations and audits. But then we also have a plan of implementing the same functionality to observations listing and audits listing.

We are also more than happy to discuss the needs of our customers since part of what we are trying to do is to help utilizing the tables more and sometimes it means adding new fields to for example places and users tables. So please reach out to us if you have any requests on new columns.

New and improved lifetime feature

Again, let’s start with what we’ve already had in the past. With observations, it has been possible to auto-delete attachments of certain chosen categories and also auto-delete answers of certain observation questions. And of course it’s not just the auto-delete, but the lifetime of those, so how long will it take for Falcony to auto-delete them.

But now with the revamped lifetime functionality, it is also possible to auto-delete entire observations (whether reactive or audit observations) after chosen time periods.

All three, attachments, answers to certain question and entire observations can be decided on an observation category level so it doesn't have to concern all observations. This also includes a flat fee of 50€/month. If you want this enabled, simply reach out to us.

Faster workflow integrations

We’ve also released an improvement to our workflow integrations. Previously our workflow integrations have checked for new observations every 10 minutes. With insurance integrations for example, after the observation has been successfully sent, all the sensitive data gets removed after that time period.

This might not sound too bad, but this has had some issues. Some customers don't like that the sensitive data can be seen in Falcony for up to 10 minutes and it's quite annoying to explain this limitation when onboarding or letting new customers test this feature. We've now changed this so that the data is sent by the integration much faster, usually just a couple of seconds.

We are building the world's first operational involvement platform. Our mission is to make the process of finding, sharing, fixing and learning from issues and observations as easy as thinking about them and as rewarding as being remembered for them.‍

By doing this, we are making work more meaningful for all parties involved.
