As a safety manager, it is your job to optimise processes and operations. In many cases, that means you have to make changes to existing systems to facilitate growth. Although change can be scary, it can also be beneficial for your company in the long run. Of course, making changes can be incredibly difficult. Fortunately, Software-as-a-service (SaaS) makes your work much easier. You cannot start using SaaS without approval from your executive board, though. If you are ready to use SaaS but still need approval, we can help.
There are the 3 main questions you need to ask before talking to your executive board about a new SaaS investment. Answering these questions will make it much easier to convince your superiors to invest in SaaS solutions. Then, your company will enjoy countless benefits that come with SaaS solutions.
1. What are the needs of my company?
Safety managers often face challenges when choosing the right system for their company. That is why it is important to consider the value an SaaS system would bring to your company.
Do you need an SaaS system for mobile software? Will you use it to collect data? Will it allow you to avoid writing reports? Will your company enjoy all of these benefits, both today and in the future?
SaaS is used to help your company perform better. Knowing what your company needs is an important first step in picking out the right software. When you are able to pick the right software, it is much easier to convince your executive board to agree to the change.
2. What are the benefits of implementing a SaaS system?
The core benefits of implementing a SaaS system are:
- It makes your operations run faster and smoother
- The system can be customized to the needs of your company
- It is easy enough for everyone in the company to use
- The SaaS system is developing all the time, so you always have the newest and the best version
- You will never lose important information again
We encourage feedback from our customers, and more times than not, they mention how much easier reporting has become due to the use of our services. Our customers have been able to document a positive increase in reporting, as the tool has made it faster to report incidents on the go. In some cases, you just need to take a picture and upload it to the reporting platform.
You will want to present your board with all of these benefits. That way, they will understand why you need SaaS.
3. What is my budget?
It is normal to feel excited about the idea of implementing SaaS, but before you commit to the change, you need to look at your short-term budget. Can you afford to implement the SaaS over the next month? Quarter? 6 months? Year?
When you know what your budget is, you know what service to invest in to get the SaaS that compliments your needs. Then, you can show the board how the system fits into your budget.
Once you have the answer the all of these questions, you have a pitch that you can present to your executive board regarding the new investments in SaaS. Then, you will be ready to change and grow as a company, both today and in the future.
Another element to consider when thinking about implementing a new SaaS system is, will it help you adapt to the VUCA world? We have made a blog post to help you learn what VUCA means, and why it matters.
